Hi all. I'm in the process of remodeling my kitchen/dining area and I can't seem to decide which light fixture to choose. Opinions are greatly appreciated:
Drum pendant kight in Pumpkin damask Drum pendant light in Amber Fairy Frost My walls are a deep cream color. All comments/suggestions are welcome. Thanks! |

Hi Becca,
Depending on your room's current design, I'd probably lean toward the Amber Fairy Frost instead of the Pumpkin Damask. It will give you a little more room for changing your design in the future while maintaining a bold statement with the orange hue. The danger with the Pumpkin Damask is that while patterns are extremely hot right now--damask and brocade patterns in particular, you may regret your decision a few years down the road and want to replace the pendant. If you already plan on redesigning in the short term, then that may not be a problem for you. Finally, one other consideration would be the tones currently in your kitchen/dining room. If they're warmer, the Amber Fairy Frost would definitely be a great decision since its mottled hues give a really warm vibe. If you have cooler tones or would like to add cooler tones, the stark contrast of the orange and white in the damask pendant gives a great cool mod feel. Still, you should go with whatever feels right to you for your own aesthetic while keeping in mind the longevity and future flexibility of your dining room and kitchen's designs. Hope that helps! |

Thank you Caitlin. You made some excellent points. I'll definately consider what you've said in making my final decision.
