Tecnically this is a bathroom question, not a kitchen question, but I hope that's OK. As we all know, the major drawback with low-flow toilets is lack of flushing power, to put it delicately. I saw some ads for the American Standard Champion toilet, and they showed it flushing about two dozen golf balls. Not that I need quite that much power, but is this for real? Can anyone vouch if this is actually better than some of the older models?

Joy, I don't know if you have received a reply regarding your toilet question but a company named Toto actually invented the flushing test with golf balls. American Standard has a trade mark as "America's Best Flushing Toilet" but Toto developed the technology and not only does it flush well, it is extremely quiet. You can also get their "soft close" seat so that there is no slamming of the seat. Toto can be purchased through a specialty plumbing dealer but not from the big box retailers. I can attest to their excellence, I have two of them. Additionally, the toilets for the US are manufactured in Atlanta, GA.

Thanks, Dawn. I looked on the Toto site and they have four or five different kinds of "flush technology." Do you have any idea which is better? And do they cost a lot more than American Standard?
