I'm a proud new home owner looking for some help. I changed out all my kitchen light fixtures to a brushed nickle finish along with stainless steel appliances. I wanted to do two colors in the kitchen. One wall (biggest) has knock down finish and I wanted to spounge paint it. Painting the other walls a different color. Please help with paint colors any suggestions are welcome.

With that knockdown finish, I'd think you'd do well with a warm, Tuscan look in the kitchen. I really liked the look of the range hood in the Kitchen Diaries, which I think is sponge painted. It's kind of a brown or cinnamon color. There's a good picture here: http://www.kitchens.com/Diary-Of-A-Kitchen-Remodel/Cand...re-after/after-1.asp

A mossy green or orange-red might be good, too.

Thanks Joy!!! Excuse my ignorance though, what color would be my base? And what color would I spounge on? Warm, tuscan, light, words like that I have no clue what to go with. I really have no eye for interior design. Thanks again.

Hi

As a focal point in your kitchen -- How about a tumble marble tile Tuscany landscape tile mural..

See a great selection to choose from at reasonable pricing but customized for you.

You are braver than I am, Bachalor!! I've never done sponge painting, even though I like how it looks. They have some good how-to on sponging at Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams (I'm a Benjamin Moore girl myself).

It looks like you put the darker color as the base coat and a special glaze lighter color on the top.

Here's a picture of a Tuscan look:
