My partner and I could use help in our kitchen. We love both this color red (BM Affinity Moroccan Spice) and green (BM Affinity Anjou Pear). The cabinets are half-way done being converted to an off white (BM Affinity Jicama). RIght now, the kitchen is half red and half green, but the balance seem off. We like the green with the black granite and SS appliances, but unsure how to use both colors. The schoolhouse lights have a red stripe, but we could change that in a pinch. What to do?
I just checked out your colors on the palette at Benjamin Moore, and they're gorgeous! I'd recommend that you stick with the stand-by rule with balancing color: 60-30-10.
Breaking up a major color that will cover 60 percent of your space, complemented by another color that covers 30 percent, and then accented by a third color at 10 percent, will give you a balance that works. Both that Moroccan Spice and Anjou Pear are such bold, beautiful colors that splitting them 50/50 will only make them compete. I'd choose which color--red or green--you want to dominate and make that your 60 percent dominant color, and the rest will fall from there. Check out the Color Page if you are looking for more ideas.
We had thought about increasing the red, but did like the green with the counter. What if the backsplash stayed green? To keep the 60-30-10 is tough as the Jicama cabinets take up so much of the wall? And if we went all red, should we change the light color?

could the green just be in the back splash area. both colors look goods
I think the paint is just fine. There just needs to be some accessories of the same value of red and green. A big red bowl on top of the fridge, some pictures that contain both colors on the green column wall and under the cabinets or by the window. I think if you intermix the colors instead of the separation that paint provides, your eye will move around the room easier. Beautiful.

My initial reaction to the space was the flow from one space to the other. I would decide on "one" paint color and accent the spaces with the other color that you like. Decide which color you might get tired of more quickly and choose that color for your accent color.
