My mother has lived in her 2-bedroom condo for 30 years and is now moving into a retirement center. It is well kept and everything works but looks very outdated. The appliances are harvest gold and clunky, the floor is brown patterned linoleum, the cabinets have knobs and huge scrollwork smack in the middle of each door. The kitchen has sliding doors sealing it off from the dining room (which has shag carpeting and pink wallpaper).

Question:
We can't afford to do everything before selling--which do you think is the most important thing we should do?

Choices:
Remove all wallpaper and paint all the rooms
Replace the shag carpeting
Replace all the appliances
Reface the cabinets
Fix the kitchen and bathroom and leave the rest of the place
Remove doors between kitchen and dining room and replace/fix casing
