We recently purchased a new refrigerator and dishwash, both white front. In hindsight, that was a mistake, should have went stainless, but too late for that. Now we want to put in a new floor and granite counter tops. Our cabinets are a light maple. The attached room has mostly golds, reds and black. I was thinking a black granite countertops but hubby thinks this won't look good with the white appliances. Am I stuck with getting gold granite? The black not working with the white appliances?

Hi Karen,

Go with a Giallo Ornamental(earth tone) or even an uba tuba(dark). The Uba Tuba has some tan fleck in it that goes well with the maple. In short, if it ties in with the cabinetry your white appliances will be fine.

Ron,
Thanks for responding! Hubby says that I misquoted. We have light oak not maple-oops. Will uba tuba still work? That's what I really wanted. I'm thinking that Giallo Ornamental will be too much gold...if we go uba tuba, what color ceramic tile for the wall and floor do you suggest? I appreciate your response!

Karen,
Uba Tuba will work, sure. Go with a Crema Marfil tumbled marble on the backsplash. That is a natural color. 4x4's look nice. Email Ron@prioredesign.com and I will send you an Uba Tuba on Maple kitchen with Crema Marfil backsplash. Looks great! Never put ceramic on granite counters. Smiler Stone counters deserve stone backsplash.

Ron
