We are going to start our kitchen remodel shortly. We are going to do the job ourselves and are going to have a tile floor. Can't agree and can't find info as to whether the concrete board should be the subfloor for the cabintets. Any recommendations?

I’m a flooring contractor (Chicago suburbs) and small builder (MI). Normally the tile would go completely under the cabinet. Concrete board and tile should be installed wall to wall with cabinets sitting on top of the finished tile floor. It eliminates any appliance or countertop height problems during this and future remodels. If you ever change out an appliance, remove a cabinet, or remodel again, then you have a finished tile floor under the cabinets. You’ll thank yourself later!
