My husband and I are in the process of remodeling our kitchen. We are replacing the floors and cabinets but we aren't sure which we should do first. Should we start with the floor and have the cabinets sit ontop of the tile, or do we start with the cabinets and build the tile around the cabinets?

I usually suggest to do tiles before cabinets for two reasons.

1- If in the future you decide to modify the layout of your kitchen you dont have to worry about looking for tiles( to put where there are none) or destroy where you want to add a cabinet.

2- I believe that it looks nicer when cabinet is sitting on top of tiles than grout/tile against the cabinet. In addition you probably have a better leveled floor with the tile on.

just my 2 cents.
